BRIGHTER DAY ARTS ACADEMY SERVICES

OVERVIEW

Multiple studies conclude that curricular and extracurricular Arts programs and activities help keep high-risk dropout students in school. Even with this information funding for creative arts continues to be stripped away from our schools and community programs. Many of our youth are not receiving the necessary social, cognitive, and academic benefits the arts are proven to provide.  The Brighter Day Arts Academy’s (BDAA) purpose and mandate is to offer creative arts programs to all youth, but especially those that are low income and at risk.

GOALS

  1. Obtain Funding for facility, instructors and training materials

  2. Hire and train instructors to model BDAA philosophies, values and protocols

  3. Provide structured classes and state of the art technology in a safe learning environment

THE SOLUTION

Recommendation #1: Establish funding contacts

EXECUTION STRATEGY

Our curriculum will yield long lasting success in skills related to the arts, as well as character development through teachers and mentors who are passionate about the community's development and well-being. Our focus is dedicated to the student's individual success as well as the success of the family. The goal is that by matriculation the student will emerge a leader with the mindset of “Each one, teach one.”

We will institute a multi-level curriculum including

Level 1: Bronze Level (Beginner)

Level 2: Silver Level (Intermediate)

Level 3: Gold Level (Advanced)

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Brighter Day will offer lessons to senior citizens and high functioning special needs facilities, as the arts have been proven to add joy to their quality of life. We’d also like to partner with the Allen County Juvenile Center (ACJC) under their “Special Programs” initiative to provide the arts as a tool to guide our community's youth toward a path of success .

OVERALL SUCCESS IS NOT FOUND IN SKILL DEVELOPMENT ALONE, BUT IN THE EMPOWERMENT OF THE ENTIRE VESSEL.
